President: Mr Alexandre METRO, architect of the Heritage, ICOMOS France (Paris) A. Case study This third session aims at presenting a few operational stakes and some innovative tools set up at different scales to valorise the urban heritage.

=> City of Tunis (Tunisia): refurbishing the oukalas: actors, principles, projects and
realisations.
=> City of Amman (Jordan): Amman urban heritage strategy and policies. Collaboration with the AFD and the city of Paris

11:30 13:00: Fourth session “vulnerability of heritage and sustainable development“
President: Claude LEFROU, former director at the Office for geological and mine researches –
France. A. Case study This session aims at underlining different types of risks met in several mediterranean historical cities. What are those risks and what type of tool do the city have to face them?
=> City of Valletta (Malta): the risks linked to the dammages done by the environment on built heritage, the project of the waterfront
=> City of Evora (Portugal): Qualicities, a progress approach and a European Label.
=> City of Pézenas (France) : The Med Eco Quartier approach: Build sustainable districts in
the Mediterranean.

- The program of the French Ministry for Ecology for the prevention of seismic risk in France and in the
overseas departments, with the implication of public authorities, building industry and the citizens and reducing the vunerability of people and goods,

15:00 -16:00 : Public meeting Synthesis of the four sessions Presentation of the program of the European Heritage Days in Arles by the representatives of the heritage department . 16:00 -16:30 Conclusions Cities’ needs and priority issues to be dealt with in the future network, Mr. Patrice Morot Sir, Ecole d’Avignon (after a consertation period with the representatives of the invited cities) 16:30 -17:00: Debate with the public 17:00 -17:30 : End of works.
